EVENTSCAPE

A music-focused platform that simplifies event discovery, planning, and arrival.

My role

I led the project from research through final prototype, conducting user interviews, defining the product strategy, designing user flows, creating wireframes, developing the visual identity, and testing the final experience.

Scope

Designing an end-to-end mobile experience

Tools

Figma, FigJam, v0

Planning a night out often requires switching between multiple apps for discovering events, buying tickets, coordinating transportation, and sharing plans with friends. EVENTSCAPE brings event discovery, ticketing, and transportation into one connected experience, helping attendees spend less time planning and more time enjoying live events.

The challenge

Attendees rely on multiple platforms to discover events, purchase tickets, and plan transportation, while organizers have limited tools to support a smoother arrival experience, creating unnecessary friction before an event even begins.

The goal

Design a unified platform that simplifies event discovery, ticket purchasing, and transportation while improving the experience for both attendees and organizers.

Understanding the audience

Research explored how attendees discover events, coordinate plans, and travel to venues, while also identifying opportunities to better support organizers throughout the event experience.

I just want to get there easily, find parking, and not miss out because of hidden fees.

Instagram sometimes shows me old events, I miss a lot of shows.

It’s all about creating an experience, but it shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth just to get everyone on the same page.

Looking at the landscape

A competitive analysis of Eventbrite, Partiful, Posh.vip, and DICE identified opportunities to combine event discovery, ticketing, and transportation into a single music-focused platform. While each product solved part of the journey, none provided a seamless end-to-end experience.

What the research revealed

Research revealed four themes that guided the product strategy.

Event planning is fragmented across multiple platforms.

Convenience and transportation directly influence attendance.

Users value personalized event discovery.

Organizers need better tools to support the attendee experience.

Finding the opportunity

The project goals were shaped by both attendee and organizer needs, identifying where user goals and business objectives aligned to define the core product direction.

Building the experience

Research informed the product structure, feature priorities, and overall event journey, creating a connected experience from discovery through arrival.

Mapping the journey

Storyboards and user flows visualized the attendee journey, identifying opportunities to reduce friction across discovery, ticket purchasing, and transportation.

Exploring the experience

Low-fidelity wireframes explored navigation, event discovery, ticket purchasing, and integrated transportation before refining the overall experience.

Setting the direction

Clarity, immersion, and trust.

The experience was designed to feel exciting and music-forward without sacrificing usability. Every interaction prioritizes confidence during checkout, minimal effort during planning, and a cohesive visual language that reflects live music culture. Bold visuals are balanced with clean hierarchy to support fast scanning while maintaining an emotionally engaging experience.

Designing the system

The visual identity was designed to reflect the energy of live music while maintaining clarity throughout the experience. A cohesive design system established consistent typography, color, and reusable components across the product.

Testing the experience

Five participants tested the primary event discovery, ticket purchasing, and transportation flows. Overall, users found the experience intuitive and easy to navigate. Testing identified opportunities to simplify onboarding, improve checkout, and provide greater clarity throughout the payment flow.

Refining the experience

Usability testing informed several refinements before finalizing the design.

Simplified onboarding

Refined the onboarding experience to better communicate key features and reduce friction for first time users.

Improved checkout

Simplified the purchase flow and clarified payment details to create a more seamless checkout experience.

Stronger transportation planning

Enhanced transportation information to help users confidently plan their arrival before an event.

Bringing it together

EVENTSCAPE unifies event discovery, ticketing, and transportation into one cohesive platform, creating a smoother experience for attendees while giving organizers better tools to support successful events.

Discovery

Finding a show by feel

Swiping puts one event in front of a fan at a time, with the artwork leading and the details that decide attendance, date, venue, and price, right underneath it.

Arrival

Sorting the ride before the show

Pickup spots are shown on a map beside the venue, and choosing one adds the ride to the same cart as the ticket, so arrival is settled in the booking rather than left to the night of.

Checkout

One cart, one confirmation

The ticket and the ride are reviewed together with costs stated up front, so a single checkout ends in a ticket the attendee can pull up at the door.

The full plan

From ticket to arrival

EVENTSCAPE brings the full event plan into one checkout. After selecting a ticket, users can browse transportation options and add either parking or rideshare to the same cart before completing their purchase.

Reflection

The experience starts long before you arrive.

Designing EVENTSCAPE reinforced the importance of thinking beyond individual interactions and considering the full event journey. Bringing discovery, ticketing, and transportation into one connected experience showed how thoughtful product and visual design can reduce friction across multiple touchpoints. My focus was on creating a system that felt cohesive and easy to navigate while still capturing the energy of live music.
